As long as he’s been working professionally in the creative fields Jake Messing has maintained a strong focus on designing clothing. From straightforward applications like artwork integrated onto a tee or hoodie, to more complex cut-and-sew garments, and footwear, this design work has been a progressive and consistent thread throughout his career in lead creative and marketing. What began with the founding of his own clothing brand, soon expanded into collaborations and projects with a number of select brands across the greater New York City area.
Clothing design proves a formidable challenge when spanning from complex cut & sew, to the use of original art/design, licensing, pattern creation, and all the way to the more finite use of color, material, and fabric. Use of enhanced printing techniques, appliqués, finishes, embroidery, and embellishments all play an integral role in the apparel designed by Jake Messing, along with the input and collaboration of every brand, license, and licensor.
