Skateboarding

Jake Messing was the art director and lead designer working under world renowned and two time Skater of the Year Tyshawn Jones. This work allowed him the opportunity to design pro model boards for King Skateboards; which includes Na-Kel Smith, Zach Saraceno, Caleb Barnett, and Gabriel Fortunato. These pro models have been featured in high profile skate films along with ads and marketing collateral for various brands such as Louis Vuitton, Adidas, Supreme, Thrasher, Meta, and others. Before joining King and Hardies, Jake also designed boards for Exist and his own brand Disorder New York..

Disorder at it’s core embodies the disenfranchised youth of skate culture. Through its use of art, film, literature and music the brand aims to distinguish itself from the mundane normalcy of everyday life. Comprising of a mix of original art, referential material and collaborative partners, Disorder represents an anarchistic aesthetic. The brands name, a reference to origin punk music and a reaction to the ever fleeting political climate of the US. Based in New York it carries with it the unique feeling of skateboarding downtown and Brooklyn. Born in 2016 from a simple idea, it has continued to evolve and find new form.
